When I was in the designing stages for IronBlogger, I needed to plan some realistic goals that I could achieve. By setting goals, I could grow IronBlogger and not lose my focus at the exact same time.
So what really is a goal?
Well according to the dictionary, a goal is simply…
“the end toward which effort is directed”
What this means is that a goal is something you put effort into to achieve something.
To help you, my readers, and myself, I have decided to share with you a few goals that I plan to acheive with IronBlogger.
I thought that it would be interesting if I could implement these goals at the start of July and have the deadline at the end of the month. This way I can get a strict deadline that will allow me to really put a lot more effort and having more focus while trying to achieve these goals. The course of one month should be plenty of time to work at these goals. Then, once the month is done I can compare my results with what I originally set to achieve.
Here are 5 goals that I hope to achieve with IronBlogger:
- Get 50 RSS subscribers
- Make $500 from this blog
- Obtain 5000 unique visitors
- Obtain 10000 unique pageviews
- Write a blog post everyday
These 5 goals are just simple tasks that I must now work hard at everyday to conquer. I hope that I can achieve these goals because then I will really have something to be proud of. If I can manage to reach all of these 5 goals then I will be very happy.
Now that I have chosen 5 goals, I challenge you to as well pick 5 goals that you want to reach for the month of July.
Stick to these goals and do not give up! I will be checking back with you..

goals are so important, and it looks like you have set some great ones! BTW I love your blog design - it looks fantastic!

I set goals all the time. Of course I also change them minute to minute, but hey no one can ever say I fail!
Seriously though good thoughts. One thing that most people advocate is setting both short and long term goals. The short term goals should lead into the long term ones and as long as you keep on track in the here and now the future will take care of itself.

I change my goals all the time, in fact it’s better to keep yourself flexible but also stay strict at the same time.
And short term goals do lead into long term goals. I’ll probably end up turning that 50 RSS subscriber goal into something like 1000 at the end of the year of something.
Thanks for the comment Durant :p.
Good stuff man…I love to see goals, it motivates me to have some of my own….
