First of all, I’d like to apologize for the lateness of this post, as it should have been done a few days ago. I was out of town for a few days without internet access so I’m a little behind right now, but no worries. I’ll be back on track in no time.

September was a pretty good month on the whole. It was a little rocky in mid September but things started to pick up near the end and October is off to a fabulous start. Here is my income report for September.

Here are my current statistics:

  • 74 RSS Subscribers
  • 1, 576 Visits
  • 2, 544 Pageviews
  • Technorati Ranking: 171, 641
  • Alexa Rank: 226, 955

A nice little increase in readers and some rankings on Alexa and Technorati. I was hoping I could get my Alexa ranking a little higher, but oh well. As long as it continues to grow, I will be happy.

Here Is My Revenue For The Month Of September:

  • Private Advertising: $25
  • Kontera: $6.05
  • Text-Link-Ads: $3.04
  • Google AdSense: $5.08
  • Affiliate Marketing $50

Grand Total: $89.17

As you can see, I ended up making a little bit more money then last month.

My big money makers are private advertising and affiliate marketing. Without these two methods I wouldn’t really be making any money at all from this blog. I’m going to be focusing my efforts more on these and on other ways to make money for October.

I’m also trying out AdSense for the month of October, if you haven’t read my post you can do so here. Hopefully I can find some ways to make some decent cash off of AdSense. Chances are I will be ditching it when October is done though. I’m not expecting it to do too great.

I’d also like to thank all my sponsors for the month of September:

I’d also like to give a mention that I just started my contest. There are many great gifts and lots of cool prizes to win, so sign up now!

Thanks everyone.

  4. Well done! Your stats are looking pretty good an no doubt will only get higher, and I’m sure along with that your earnings will increase too.

  6. Oh, also, I can’t see the whole of your contest post… the page loads up until “Here are prizes that can be won” then just stops there. Anyone else having this problem? Have tried it on a couple of machines with the same result.

  8. @Chris - That’s weird, it loads perfectly fine for me. Did you try clicking the title so it brings you to the post on a single page?

  10. Good job and keep going! Just for the record, Adsense on MMO blogs isn’t doing that good..It’s better for niches where the reader doesn’t have technical knowledge. But still, let us know of the results!

  12. nicely done.. keep giving an update month by month, i think another good thing would be to give some kind of a breakdown of what you did between months to cause those increases :) would love to see what you do and what works for you..

  14. Not bad for a beginner blog. I am sure it will only keep increasing. How many unique visitors do you get per day on this blog?

  15. IronBlogger on 10.07.2008 at | permalink
  16. @ Ben - I know, I’m starting to see that already… I’ll be posting the first week results in the next couple of days or so. I’ll also be doing some posts on how to increase AdSense and what works and what does not.

@ Kahthan - I usually do a bit of a breakdown but I didn’t have enough time when I wrote the post to go into much detail. I’ll keep your suggestion in mind though and definitely give you more real life examples next month.

@ QuickPWN - I currently am averaging about 40-60 uniques per day. It’s been rising quite a bit lately, and is getting higher.

I’m really excited right now as the growth rate of IronBlogger is growing fast.

    Thanks again everyone!

  18. That’s impressive for the traffic stats - hope it keeps building up :)
What were the affiliate sales from may I ask?

I too am finding adsense on blogs pretty pointless at the moment :(

  24. Thanks for posting your stats, I’m sure with this contest and the blog content you post it will keep increasing! I noticed you’re using Kontera on your blog. I recommend you give Infolinks a try because I noticed that Infolinks in-text advertising paid me better for all my websites instead of Kontera.

When your blog gets better and you have over 500,000 pageviews monthly then I would recommend applying to Vibrant Media because their pay is the best. :)

  26. Looks like some good stats and money earned. Well done. Keep up the good work.

  28. @Simon - The affiliate sales were mostly from referrals and stuff from program that I use. I haven’t really gotten too deep into affiliate marketing yet.

@QuickPwn - I have never used infolinks before. I might go and check it out though. Thanks for the recommendation. I recently took Kontera off though because it just wasn’t really working for me.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.
