Ever get that feeling when you know that you have more then what is actually shown to you? Like you are given an result but you know that there has got to be more.

Missing Those RSS Subscribers?

For example the other day I logged into my feed for IronBlogger on Feedburner. What it showed me was 1 subscriber and 3 hits on my RSS feed….

Now, I knew that there was something wrong with this as I checked Google Analytics and it showed me that my readers were clicking on my feed. Also, not to mention all of the readers who said they were subscribing to my blog.

So, all of this made me to believe that ether:

  1. My feed had gotten really messed up some how.
  2. Google Analytics and my readers were lieing to me horribly.

Now I know that you, my faithful readers would never lie to me. So I did a search on a few reasons as to why my RSS feed was not reporting my readers correctly. On my search I ended up finding a great plugin for WordPress.

The name of the plugin is FD Feedburner Plugin for WordPress. The purpose of this plugin is to redirect all of your RSS users directly to your main FeedBurner Feed. It does this without you really having to do any work at all. All you have to do is enter your feed burner URL for your blog and you are done. The plugin also has the ability do to the same to your comments a well.

Missing Those RSS Subscribers?

The problem with my Feed was that many people were signing up to my default WordPress feed and it wasn’t showing up in my Feedburner feed. I was also experiencing problems with my new theme as well. This plugin seemed to fix the problem though.

I had about 3 hits on my reader and 1 subscriber before I activated this plugin. Once I activated this plugin my RSS subscribers turned from 1 into 8. I knew there was something wrong but I finally fixed the problem.

If you are having trouble with your RSS or just want to get as many RSS subscribers as you can, then I highly recommend that you download this plugin and install it right away. Installation is easy, just enter your FeedBurner URL and you are done.

This is a great plugin that helps you maximize your list of RSS readers. Be sure to check it out.

  4. Links as in your theme? Yea, that’s what I do normally but my RSS was pointing towards my old Feed.

So I needed to make them all point towards one feed instead of two. It works now though.

    Thanks.

  6. Indeed, I have been using this plugin for a while and I love it. Haven’t set it up for comment rss though…I thought most just subscribe to the comments they want by email.

    Anyhow…good stuff.
